Dreams of dust

"One day I woke up and realised
that all my dreams've turned into dust.
Pieces fallen can be picked up,
but what of dust, must and rust?

Invisible to the naked eye..
though watched by me day, noon and night,
Will they gather themselves back and fly
into those dreams, once within my sight?
within my right?"

Ah!the world dreams a lot..
Of starry skies and sunny days
Of beaches unseen and snowy ways.
We dream in clouds and dream on sand..
But what we wanna do stays in our hands.
The closed fist, thus, speaks a tale of strength
Of determination to every length.

But time is oh!An Evil One
with it's passing by, grow our hands forlorn.
And other fists come in the way
So you may never see your shiny day.
You were born with hope and you lived with ambition,
But you can't break this;it's called tradition.
With a weary face and a teary eye,
you learn to give up with your head held high.
Yeah, dreams are meant to be shattered, my boy,
You can't do much;It is all a ploy.
Reality plays it all alone
to rob you from your golden throne.

Don't shed a tear; don't show your fear
Of loosing what you love the most,
Cos' one fine day,the sky will split & you will hear
The trumpets' sound from coast to coast.

You will then realise that there is a place
where dreams do come true, after all..
A place with light and happy faces,
A place from where you will never fall.

Then, you may gather your dust and knit them back
With a spool of hope and a thread of joy
Hand down your dreams to the younger ones
It is theirs now,not yours, my boy...
